By using the slogan and mantra Vidya param Daivatam we are imparting knowledge (Vidyadan) in our area. On a day 20th June 1956 Shikshan Prasarak Mandal established this Arts and Commerce college which came to be known as *Late Tatyasaheb Mahajan Arts and Commerce college, with an aim to provide quality higher education to the students of rural areas. Education is a tool to develop a nation. The inculcation of values, ethics, perseverance , honesty, patriotism and unity among the youth was the dream of our nation builders like Mahatma Gandhi, Swami Vivekananda, Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj which can only be done through education. It is our constant endeavor to bring about the radical changes among the taught.While teaching national level curriculum we are constantly inculcating subjects like globalization, international changing trends, education reforms, global and national standards, QS ranking and NIFR in the context of research methods, IPR, technical writing, technology tools and its use in order to enable the students to be competent. Although Maharashtra is a progressive state in the country, our district lies in western part of Vidarbha in Maharashtra known as the backward region.Gadchiroli and Buldhana districts has the lowest human development index and the lowest ratio of higher education among the 11 districts in Vidarbha. Keeping this in mind, we are constantly trying to empower students by thinking, observing and researching on local issues. We try to empower farmers in our district by finding a way out for the problems like suicide, unemployment, low rainfall. Indian Knowledge Tradition, Family Enlightenment, Environmental Protection, Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, Rural Development, Women Development, Economic Empowerment, Self-Employment, Agricultural Entrepreneurship all these tools are used to meet the growing need of time. We are trying to provide higher education for national development through parent contact, street plays, awareness meetings etc. We adopted the prayers of Saint Dnyaneshwar Mauli as a means for continuous growth of human values and welfare-rism. The rural becomes the focal point for the objectives set by the institution.Altogether we struggle for bringing out the positive transformation in society.
