About Department

    The college was established on 20th June 1965 by S.P.M. (Shiskhan Prasarak Mandal) which is known as Tatyasaheb Mahajan Arts and Commerce College. It was established to give an opportunity of education to the students of rural area. The college started first year of Arts and Commerce, affiliated to Nagpur University. Economics in Arts faculty is an optional subject and Business Economics in Commerce faculty is compulsory subject.

GOALS

To introduce the students to the advanced theories in economics.

To equip students with analytical tools of economics to understand the current economic reality with perspective of problem solving.

To introduce the tools of empirical analysis.

To offer a wide range of courses enabling the students in their pursuit of specialization in NEP-2020

To organize various curricular and co-curricular academic programme

To organize students research workshop on current issues

MISSION

To produce this knowledge for solving the problems of the country with special focus on Social justice, Distributive justice and Gender justice.

ECONOMICS & PLANNING FORUM

  The aim of Economics & Planning forum is to make the students aware about various economical issues as well as to awareness the knowledge about world & Indian economy, hence the Economics & Planning forum is established every year in the college. The forum is also encourages the students to take part in various economic & social activities.
  The general & specific aims & objectives of Economics & Planning Forum are as:

Promote understanding and discussion of economic issues.
Create a platform for sharing knowledge & perspectives.
Foster critical thinking & problem-solving skills.
Raise awareness of the importance of economics.

Develop “economic planning consciousness” among the public
Enhance research & scholarship in economics.
