Shikshan Prasarak Mandal's
The college was established on 20th June 1965 by S.P.M. (Shikshan Prasarak Mandal) which is known as Tatyasaheb Mahajan Arts and Commerce College. It was established to give an opportunity of education to the students of rural area. The college started first year of Arts and Commerce, affiliated to Nagpur University. Political science in Arts faculty is an optional subject.
At the beginning of the college Prof. B. N. Vidwans taught Political Science. Prof. B. N. Vidhwans encouraged student's interest in Political Science. Students also chose political Science like a compulsory subject. He was working till 1974. After 1974 Prof. Ram Pande was appointed on the post of Lecturer in Political Science. He resigned his post in 1978.
After Mr. Ram Pande Mr. J.M. Khadse was Appointed on 01/08/1979 as a lecturer for Political Science and worked as the head of the department of political science till 2011.
Then myself Dr. Nagesh Khushlrao Gailkwad appointed as Asst. Professor on 18/08/2011 and now working as a head of the political Science department.
Our department has a tradition of brilliant success in university results and one of our students has even got university gold medal.
